The now trending Kenyan rugby professional Daniel Adongo has made the whole country both those who knew him and those who had never heard of him to remain in shock following his current sorry state of affairs.
A video posted online showed a very different man from what Kenyans knew of him leaving everyone asking where actually the rain started beating this young and promising rugby star.
He was, according to sources, a talented young sportsman whose career was rising by day and contracts were streaming in every week. He started at Strathmore before moving to Kenya Harlequins where he played for a short stint and switched to another club. He was no doubt going places until he found himself in the United States of America USA .
Fast forward, he joined US based club Indianapolis Colts before he was waived off in 2015. On 17 December the same year he was waived again and this time after he was implicated by a unidentified female for having assaulted her. It was a case of domestic violence and this is where his life took a nose dive. The worst point came to happen when his multi-million contract worth $2 million was cancelled due to his character.
Apart from what people see from outside, Adongo now 30 is not just your boy next door, he is a confirmed graduate from University.
Raised up by a single mother, Adongo has been giving her difficult time all through. It remained her mother’s responsibility to fend for him as he involved himself in other lawlessness and cultism.
Here is the full list of clubs the young man had played for before he turned to just a shell of his former self: Strathmore School, Kenya Harlequins junior team, Safari Sevens tournament and The Sharks academy.
He progressed from Under–19 level in 2008 to Under–21 level in 2010 and at the end of 2011, he was signed by the Blue Bulls.
In 2012, he also joined New Zealand ITM Cup team Counties Manukau before he played for UP Tuks in the 2012 Vasity Cup.
And internationally, he played for the Kenyan Under–18 and Under–21 national teams. In 2013 Adongo was signed by NFL’s Indianapolis Colts before he turned to a free agent player todate.
Both for those who know him well as well as his fans, they describe him as a former pacy, versatile and adorable forward.
