Monday, December 5, 2022 -An honest Kenyan who relocated to the United States of America 12 years ago has shared his experience in the land of honey and milk.
Going by his Tikotok username @thekenyanamerican, he compared his life in Kenya and now in America saying, in US life was better because of great support systems.
He urged those who can apply for the American Greencard/Visa to do so because in the US, life has been fairer as compared to Kenya due to vast job and education opportunities.
That life is better for anyone who knows how to work hard. He disclosed that most Kenyans who live in America must succeed because they know how to work hard on any type of job coming their way.
That once in the US, opportunities are plenty and it is easier for hustlers to end up choosing atleast two of them to earn them well; unlike in Kenya where working opportunities are rare and mostly underpaid.
“I have lived in America for 12 years and if someone came and asked me which place between home and America (is better)- life in both places is very different.
“But if you are a hustler, if life has really beat you down, if you have tarmacked for so long without getting a job- life is so hard at home.
“You’d go to Uhuru Park and find people with brown envelopes who have circulated their resumes and they are so tired,” he added.
He, nonetheless, said that those in Kenya who are well-paid have no reason to relocate to the US because they won’t easily find the white collar jobs they are used to.
“But the first thing I can say is that if you are in Kenya and you have a great job and your life is going great, there is no reason for you to come to America,” he advised further.
The social media user also said, among other things one loses once he or she lands in the US, is Kenyan culture through a long culture shock phase.
He confirmed that the American environment supports job seekers better; unlike in Kenya where everyone is left to struggle for himself.
