Wednesday, May 17, 2023 –Rapper Daudi Mustafa or Colonel Mustafa has today, Wednesday May 17, met with Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.
The two met at Namwamba’s offices following the viral video in which Colonel Mustafa was captured at a ‘mjengo’ site.
“Very special time spent with legendary Kenyan artist Colonel Mustafa who I invited to my office. The Legend must rise again, like the Phoenix,” Namwamba noted on meeting with the singer.
The Sports CS added that, after hearing Mustafa’s challenges first hand, he was optimistic that the rapper will be supported back to the entertainment scene.
“We have heard your challenges, and as a ministry, I want to assure you that we are here to walk with you through this challenging phase. We have put together a package for you that will ensure that you are back on your feet, making music, and entertaining us,” he said.
The CS also said, his main aim is to make sure the legendary Ogopa Djs star goes back to making music for fans who liked him.
Namwamaba lauded Mustafa for being confident with his plight to a point he decided to do menial jobs to take his mother for medication.
“The move you took to ensure that your mother receives proper health care is one to admire, and for that, we shall stand with you,” Namwamba observed.
He added that Colonel Mustafa’s music and the royalties that accrued from his intellectual property should be something he can rely on as a sustainable source of income.
The former Deux Vultures founder has been going through a financial crisis following his mother’s Cancer diagnosis which drained him financially.
A group of well-wishers have also raised atleast sh 1 million for the rapper and his family.
