Thursday, May 18, 2023 – Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has been blocked from accessing Bomas of Kenya for his scheduled Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference NDC.
The Bomas of Kenya management has confirmed to the media through an official notice that the venue will be undergoing routine maintenance and, therefore, out of bounds by everyone wishing to hold their meetings there.

Uhuru, who had arranged Jubilee Party NDC Conference at the venue on Monday, May 22, will now have to reschedule or cancel the party meeting altogether.
“The closure for repairs was pre-planned and was not for political reasons. There will be no events for eight weeks,” stated the insider from the Bomas.
A detailed report from the insider also indicated that the venue will be closed upto mid-July 2023 despite Uhuru’s wing insisting that their meeting will carry on as planned.
“It has come to our attention that there are nefarious individuals going round purporting to collect names for our NDC.
“We want to assure the delegates of Jubilee that an NDC will be there on Monday. We have secured another venue, we have actually secured two more venues,” stated former MP Jeremiah Kioni who is also Jubilee Party Secretary general.
Apart from him blaming the government for fueling fights within the former ruling party, Mr. Kioni also accused some fraudulent individuals for purporting to be collecting names and date for the NDC ahead of their conference.
On April 30, Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta called for a special NDC to formulate new policies and receive a status report from the National Executive Committee NEC with an aim of rejuvenating his party.
“Anyone who wants to leave a party can join another. We have no quarrel with anyone. We want to guard our party, and those who do not want, are free to leave,” lamented Uhuru at the party headquarters.

This quickly saw the Kanini Kega-led wing laugh off the plans saying Uhuru and the former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni have no such powers to convene party meetings.
Kega and Sabina Chege would then promise to stage a counter-reactive move to stop Uhuru and Kioni from running any Jubilee Party activity.
