Wednesday, April 26, 2023 –All assets belonging to the cult pastor Paul Mackenzie will be seized by the State. Director of Public Prosecutions DPP Noordin Haji was on Wednesday, April 26, given court orders in that regard.
Malindi Principal Magistrate Ivy Wasike today gave the DPP a search warrant valid for a period of ten days to earmark anything that belongs to the cultist based in Malindi,Kilifi County.
In particular, the Magistrate ordered detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI to access and seize title deed documents, motor vehicles, access bank details and other items linked to the charges leveled against the pastor.
She further directed lead investigating officer Joseph Yator to conduct the search in the presence of Mackenzie’s lawyers or their authorised agent.
“The search of the premises be conducted during daytime,” the magistrate directed.
The court warned that anyone served with the order and contravened the same would be charged with contempt and would be liable for imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or both.
While that was happening, Nyeri Catholic Archbishop Anthony Muheria, today also challenged the government to conduct a financial audit on all religious leaders practicing in the country.
He argued that this will help deal with sprouting spiritual fraudsters who aims at hoodwinking unsuspecting victims to amass wealth.
