Saturday, December 3, 2022 –Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has taken issue with Azimio la Umoja leaders who are inciting members of the public not to repay Hustlers Fund loans.
Speaking in Maragua Koikoigo Market on Saturday December 3 afternoon, a Charged DP Gachagua accused section of opposition politicians for misleading members of the public against Hustlers Fund loans.
He mentioned Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as among key leaders who are telling the public to mess the Hustlers Fund project.
He described Sifuna’s message to the youth as retrogressive in nature an which should be ignored by all law-abiding citizens.
“Nimeona huyu senator wa Azimio kule Nairobi akiambia watu ati wachukuwe pesa na wakose kulipa. Kweli Mungu anapenda Kenya. Kama hii watu wangechukuwa serikali si tungezama,” he took a swipe.
Gachagua, therefore, urged Mt Kenya small scale business people to repay any loan they will be taking from the Hustlers Fund kitty saying this is for their own advantage.
The DP said, for the loan to remain sustainable, there is need to repay and borrow more; what is also healthy for economy of the country.
According to Gachagua, taking sh 1000 loan from the Hustlers Fund could change not just one life but millions of struggling traders who cannot access elite bank facilities.
The Kenya Kwanza Hustlers Fund was initiated a couple of days ago by President William Ruto who also advised that the initiative should not be undermined since the little money borrowed from elsewhere had enlisted so many innocent Kenyans on the Credit Reference Bureau CRB.
In a series of Senator Sifuna’s tweets, Kenyans should not worry about repaying the loan since law is shielding them from State harassment.
“I encourage Kenyans to take the Hustler Fund money because there’s no legal recourse for the govt to come after them because of not paying back,” Senator Edwin Sifuna advised.
Lawyer Sifuna also added that the Fund had come as an early Christmas to the youth who had been promised jobs and free flow of money by the current regime during campaign period.
