Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has expressed his reservation on the Building Bridges Initiative BBI document which is about to be released.

Speaking over the weekend during burial service of the late Francis Mbogori who was the father to Weru Tv CEO, the governor cautioned those preparing the document to be careful since it could be rejected if it will center on creation of positions rather than the common citizen.

President Uhuru Kenyatta perusing through the first BBI report.

He said he is waiting to analyse the paper well and if he will not be contended with its contents, then he will rally his electorates to reject it in totality.

He asked his constituents to wait for his final opinion on the document but at the same time promised to show them the right direction at the rightful time.

”As of now, I am not supporting and I am not against BBI because I don’t know what is in it. If I see that it has benefits for the people of Meru, I will tell the people that it is good and we vote for it. If it is only meant to benefit others, we will reject it,” Murungi said.

He also indicated that it will not be possible for anyone to force Kenyans to vote for any presidential candidate saying the choice will rely on what each leader will put on the table as a solution for their problems.

“It is about our own interests. We are tired of preparing food, chewing it, and only for others to swallow,” he said.

His sentiments were shared by his Senator Mithika Linturi who said, they will not accept the BBI thing for now because it was obvious that its content was majorly favouring the mighty in the society and forgotten about the poor.

They both asked the youth from around the country not to allow being used to cause chaos in the as the nation gears towards 2022 campaigns.
