Good news to the world as first Coronavirus vaccine successfully goes through approval stages and now ready for human use.
News reaching Homenews.co.ke news desk on Saturday morning of Sept 5th, indicated that a medical study published by Lancet had approved the Russian vaccine as having zero side effects.
The study conducted on the recently announced drug, further revealed that those who were tested with it exhibited strong immune system that completely overweighed Covid-19 virus.
“Preliminary results from Russian trials find that #COVID19 vaccine candidates led to no serious adverse events and elicit antibody response,” a post from the journal’s social media account read in part.
Moreover, according to lancet, “doctors involved in the trials conducted two open, non-randomised phase 1/2 studies at two hospitals in Russia, on 76 healthy volunteers aged 18 to 60 and the results were amazing,” the Lancet article illustrated.
Scientists who have had an intensive study on the drug, have since observed that the formula used to make it was safe and well tolerated.
The Russian vaccine which is still facing sharp criticism from the West countries is now dubbed Sputnik V.
Americans have questioned the speed at which Russia managed to come up with the vaccine saying it cannot be possible since such an important drug, just like any other, must be tested for quite some time before being officially unveiled to the world.
But according to the Chief Executive Officer at the Russian Sovereign Wealth Mr. Kirill Dmitriev, the vaccine was a great hope for many countries that have been asking for one.
