Thursday, May 25, 2023 – Digital Strategist and now ICT Chief Administrative Secretary CAS Dennis Itumbi has threatened to sue Nation Media Group NMG for defamation.
Mr Itumbi, through his law firm Adrian Kamotho Njenga and Company Advocates, has send a 48-hour ultimatum to NMG to retract a published story on his obsession with public office despite the fact that there still an active court case barring Chief Administrative Secretaries CASs to assume duties in their respective offices.

In the 5-page Demand Notice by Homenews.co.ke, Mr. Itumbi takes issue in the fact that the publication claims that he is already working and paid with public money against the court ruling on CAS position in Kenya Kwanza administration.
“Our client’s profile, which he has laboured so hard to build and sustain has been gravely tarnished,” Itumbi, through his lawyer Adrian Kamotho Njenga, stated.
The Daily Nation, he claims, also used his photo in the story; what he has questioned why the editors had to single him out.
Mr. Itumbi is among 50 plus individuals close to the head of State who were recently appointed and subsequently sworn into office in an event that took place at the Statehouse Nairobi and presided over by President William Ruto.
President Ruto during his recent media briefing held at the Statehouse, told journalists from top media houses that CASs positions was his plan to boost efficiency in his government.
Ruto further noted that the current workload in his government can only be dealt with by more staff members which he said will be brought on board as time goes.
Ruto argued that both his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and the Prime Chief Cabinet Secretaries Musalia Mudavadi were almost spending nights in office due to too much office work.

Among the notable figures appointed by Ruto as CAS include Dennis Itumbi, Millicent Omanga, former KNUT boss Wilson Sossion, former Bomet County Governor Isaac Ruto etc.
