Thursday, September 1, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto continued to harvest today as he received a KANU Party Member of Parliament into Kenya Kwanza alliance.
Ruto received Tiaty MP William Kamket into their coalition in a Thursday September 1 meeting that took place at Karen, Nairobi.
“Working together is imperative for the full realization of the economic objectives we promised the people of Kenya. I am pleased to welcome Tiaty MP William Kamket to Kenya Kwanza,” Ruto updated.
This is a big blow to KANU Party Chairman Gideon Moi who had only managed to secure this only chance in the next Parliament.
Kamket is the only elected legislator in Parliament from Rift Valley who vied on a KANU Party ticket and won; while the rest from his backyard used United Democratic Alliance UDA Party.
In Rift Valley, anybody who defied Ruto was defeated including vocal ex-Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter, Cherengany ex-MP Joshu Kutuny, Bomet gubernatorial candidate Isaac Ruto among many others.
KANU leader Gideon was also floored by William Cheptumo of UDA Party who has replaced him as the next Baringo County Senator.
In Rongai Nakuru County, Raymond Moi was also beaten in the August 29 election exercise that saw an outgoing County Assembly Member MCA win with 141,777 votes against his 71,480 votes.
