Tuesday, May 23, 2023 –Kanini Kega has lauded the Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu for affirming that Jubilee Party leadership had since moved from Uhuru Kenyatta to Sabina Chege.

In his post while reacting to the notice from the registrar, today Tuesday May 23, EALA MP Kega said they followed the law, while Uhuru and his allies decided to do politics with important matters.

“We followed the law, they decided to do politics, sasa ona!” Kega commented on the development.

On Tuesday May 23, Uhuru Kenyatta-Kioni faction lost the battle in the ongoing Jubilee Party fights after the Office Of the Registrar Of Political Parties ORPP confirmed that his wing was an illegal outfit.

Apart from confirming Joshua Kutuny and Acting Secretary General Kanini Kega, the Registrar also affirmed the leadership of Sabina Chege as the Constitutionally accepted party leader.

Ms Nderitu also noted that David Murathe, who has been the Jubilee Party Vice Chairman, was nolonger in the Party following his recent expulsion.

“It is further noted that the party concluded the disciplinary processes against Hon. Jeremiah Kioni, Hon. David Murathe, and Mr. Kagwe Gichohi, wherein they participated in line with Section 14B (2) of the Political Parties Act, 2011 (PPA).

“Consequently, the party expelled Hon. Kioni, Hon. Murathe and suspended Mr. Kagwe. Following a review of the submitted documents in line with the PPA and the party constitution, this Office is satisfied that the party adhered to due process,” partly read the letter from ORPP to Kutuny dated Friday, May 19.

Moreover, the ORPP stated in the letter that Jeremiah Kioni was duly expelled and his name struck off from the Jubilee Party list of members.

Sought for a comment, Joshua Kutuny told the media that, following the development, it was now obvious that Uhuru Kenyatta’s Monday May 21 National Delegates Conference NDC held at the Ngong Racecourse was null and void.

“It, therefore, means that Uhuru-led National Delegates Conference and its resolutions are null and void,” Kutuny stated.

Yesterday during their NDC, Uhuru Kenyatta said he had been forced to come back into active politics by the current government.

He laughed off any threats from the William Ruto-led wing saying he will be there to defend his party from being grabbed by outsiders.
