Friday, June 2, 2023 –Lawyer Ahmednasir Abudulahi has questioned the sense in Chief Justice Martha Koome riding in a sh 20 million worth car plus outriders and chasers, to boot.
This is after the Chief Justice, on Thursday, June 1, arrived for Madaraka Day celebrations at Moi Stadium in Embu, aboard a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport valued at sh 20 million.
The black sports car launched in Japan on August 2, 2021, was branded with the number plate CJ 1 to indicate that it was her official customized car which she uses to cruise around for official duties.
“This is Kenya for you. Madam CJ is driven in this amazing state of the art car. Her police driver/bodyguard lives with his wife and children in this tin house…who will speak for the POOR in Kenya?” Ahmednasir tweeted.
Kenyans would come out in numbers to issue their views on the opulence displayed by the Chief Justice today.
“David ndii and William Oduol have spoken about wastage of public funds in both national and county gvt .As usual we will accept and move on,” Sammy Muhanji commented.
Mr. Lemme, on his behalf, asked lawyer Ahmednasir to consider sharing his concerns with his friend President William Ruto; not the helpless citizens.
“What are crying now go tell your boss Ruto. He’s awarding madam hot hair for her verdict on election petition. Usijifanye ujui bwana,” Lemme stated.
Homenews.co.ke did a spot-check and found out that local dealers around major towns sell the pricey machine at a whopping sh 23 million.
“CS Duale is also driven in a similar car. I challenge you to state where Duale’s driver and bodyguard reside? Former CJ Maraga task force is mandated to review conditions of service and welfare of the police force,” Tom Goko commented.
Before appearing in public with this car, the CJ, used to move around in her 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser, which retails at an average cost of sh 15 million.
It is designed to meet its high-end status, including a leather-wrap steering wheel, and a start-up screen with a navigation system.
“The new Land Cruiser has adopted the latest Toyota Safety Sense active safety package with additional advanced functions. Two functions have been added to the pre-collision system that helps avoid a collision or reduce damage by detecting pedestrians,” Toyota Company documents.
Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport has a 3.3-litre V6 twin-turbo diesel engine.
