MP John Waluke has disclosed to Kenyans what goes on at Prison saying inmates idle a lot what becomes even boring to anyone sued to working all day long.

He, however observed that it was not easy staying for four month behind bars since it irritated him alot and looked horrible for him.

A section of MPs praying for Waluke.

Speaking to Citizen Tv’s Steven Letoo in an exclusive interview, Mr. Waluke observed that his four months long stay in prison life had taught him a lot about freedom and its importance.

“It has been very hard, very difficult because you have changed from normal life to prison, even the food changes, it is tough,” said Waluke.

Waluke was sentenced to a 74 year jail term for involving himself in theft at the cereal body Kenyan Cereals and Produce Board Authority.

He added that every day in Prison was almost the same making it very awkward for a man who used to enjoy DOP’s rides during their political tors across the country.

“You see there was not a lot to do in jail, there is nothing to do, there is not enough room, it was a small compound,” he said.

And speaking on favoritism because he was an MP, Waluke said he was not given any preferential treatment by warders. “I used to sit alone, I did not mix or interact with anybody,” he added.

Waluke said the prisoners zebra uniform was the order of the day and he had to get used to such outfit though it gives him bad memories anytime he thinks about it.

On lunch, h said they usually had it at 10AM and dinner at 2PM and go back under lock and key until 6AM next morning when they would have their breakfast made of a cup of porridge.

Wrapping up his interview with Citizen, he urged the youth not to engage in acts of lawlessness since prison life wastes one’s life hard to recover.
