Monday, April 17, 2023 –Roads, Transport, and Public works Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has agreed to support a young lady who had publicly sought for his help.
Eldoret-based Gospel artiste, Mercy Jerop, had asked the Cabinet Secretary to buy her a car “to aid her ministry”.

She made this communication through a hand-written placard on which she urged the former Elgeyo Marakwet senator to buy her any car to help her in movement.
“Please Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, buy me a car to aid my ministry,” she wrote on the placard and shared her phone number.
The CS, in response, would promise to not only to buy her the car but to also support her to launch a sustainable business.
“Mercy was a saloonist who like many other entrepreneurs suffered a major setback in 2020 because of Covid. We have discussed how I can support the revival of her business. We have agreed that even though a car may be important for her ministry, it’s better to support a sustainable business that can finance her gospel ministry in the long run,” he stated.
Mr. Murkomen also seized the chance to congratulate Ms Mercy for her service to God and mankind as well as her confidence in whatever she does.
“I congratulate Mercy for her service to God and mankind. “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7,” added Mr. Murkomen.

Speaking to a local channel recently, Mercy now with 15 songs, said she started singing gospel music in the year 2015 and uploaded her first video on YouTube in 2018.
