Tuesday, May 9, 2023 –Music Copyright Society of Kenya MCSK has swung into action to help former Ogopa DJs star, Colonel Mustafa real name Daudi Mustapha.
MCSK Chief Executive Officer Ezekiel Mutua on Tuesday, May 9, announced his commitment to make sure Mustafa is assisted back to his once glowing music career.

In his Tuesday may 9 address, Mr. Mutua mentioned that he had already reached out to Mustafa’s family with monetary support and arranged a sit down with the Kinyaunyau hitmaker to discuss way forward.
In his account of how he also lost his mother after battling a long illness, Ezekiel noted that it is something he cannot wish for any other person.
“I took care of my mother for 20 years and it was very hard losing her. The first time I came across his (Mustafa) story was last week but did not pay much attention to it.
“Today morning (Tuesday) was when I found out how much he sacrificed because of his mother who has cancer. I was touched and, in that moment, I went online to look for his contact,” he stated.
He will be meeting with Mustafa soon so that to start following up his past works and see how he can start making money again from them.
He assured the singer that lawyers are on standby to help process his(Mustafa’s) compansation until he recoups any monies lost in his past recordings.
He seized the opportunity to laud the Adhimabo C hitmaker for his brevity and being strong even as he was facing life challenges.
Mutua alluded that many music works for local artists had either been stolen or went into total waste after years of massive popularity; something that has to be looked into.

The MCSK CEO, however, reminded young artists in the country to learn from their seniors and start saving today from what they make in both sales and shows.
