Deputy President William Ruto has officially started his anti-referendum campaigns saying this country was not ready for such election.
Accompanied by a total of 25 MPs who are supporting his 2022 bid, the second in command observed that it will be hard for Kenyans to accept such re4ferendum calls at this particular moment before they are told of how to put food on the table.
“Coronavirus has resulted in a lot of suffering as the economy is ailing. What is important now is to focus on alleviating the sticky challenges of poverty and unemployment.” Said Ruto.
He also seized that chance to mention how he is ready to take over leadership of this country despite resistance from the so called the ‘Deep State’.
“Do not bow down to intimidation and coercion. The so-called deep state and system is hot air. It is a cocktail of criminals,” he said.
He asked Kajiado residents to believe in his leadership which he termed as godsend to people of this nation.
“We are past the politics of ethnicity and hate. Ours is development-leaning politics that will transform our country,” Ruto said.
DP Ruto was speaking this after a long prayer service session held at both Free Pentecostal Baraka Church and Kitengela Methodist Church.
