Learners will be reporting back to school on Monday October 12. Ministry of Education has officially announced.
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha, while issuing the statement on Tuesday October 6th, said his ministry had picked on the date to allow Grade 4 and class 8 alongside Form 4 learners to resume class.


Reports reaching Homenews.co.ke desk also indicated that the Ministry of Education MoE has plans to kick off KCPE examination on March 22, 2021 and to end on March 24th, 2021
“Education CS George Magoha has announced the reopening of schools for Grade 4, Class 8 and Form Four learners on Monday, October 12, 2020.
“KCPE examinations to start on March 22, 2021 and end on March 24, 2021,” he issued the statement.
For those who are going to do their KCSE, the ministry had picked on dates March 25th, 2021 until April 16, 2021.
During the process, teachers have been asked to take serious the issue of handling learners by giving them enough support systems in terms of ‘psychological and spiritual’ saying their minds had been affected quite a lot.
Just a few weeks ago, President Uhuru Kenyatta directed that children’s life was paramount and that his government will not allow them to get exposed to the deadly virus just because of rushing to finish their syllabus.
Speaking at Covid-19 KICC Conference in Nairobi recently, Kenyatta threatened to change the reopening schedule shall there be need to.
On the other hand, Universities and other colleges acrioss the country are already receiving students back to school in an exercise that started on Monday 5th.
