Monday, April 17, 2023 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leaders have claimed that the same persons who tampered with the August 9 polls are back in the country.

Raila’s ODM Party today Monday April 17 claimed that Ezra Chiloba and Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebulati were already hosting Mr. Jose Carmago and his group from Venezuela.

IEBC splinter group led by Vice Chairman Juliana Cherera at Serena Hotel yesterday

The party went on to state that the meeting between Carmago and Chebukati was taking place at the Kenyan Maasai Mara Lodge and the group was working on ways out to interfere with the IEBC servers amid pressure to open them for scrutiny.

“We have information that four Venezuelan’s led by Jose Carmago are in the country to tamper with with IEBC Kenya servers. We have information that they have met with CA CEO Ezra Chiloba & the former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati… they are now at Maasai Mara Lodge,” ODM updated their supporters.

This is happening hours after Mr. Odinga alerted his charges to be ready for the resumption of countrywide mass action against the current administration being part of key strategy to pile pressure until their demands are heeded.

“Hallooo “Non- Shareholders”, Baada ya Ramadhan, tunarudi streets. Habari Ndio Hiyo,” he announced through his official Twitter page.

Nonetheless, government side led by President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua has maintained that it will not be possible for the opposition to blackmail them into any submission.

The duo, through their troops, added that some of the demands from the opposition will not be discussed in the scheduled bipartisan talks.

They pointed out the issue of opening servers as one of the issues which may not be discussed during the sittings.

“We are open to bi-partisan talks, but cannot reinstate the Cherera 4 who resigned from office. Regarding the server, the apex court ordered its opening and rigging claims dismissed based on the info in the servers. We’re willing to engage in talks, but will not tolerate blackmail,” Majority leader in the National Assembly Mr. Ichung’wah recently said in a rally.

Both the government and the opposition wings have formed a seven aside to handle the contentious matter so that to end the political standoff.
