President Uhuru Kenyatta has reminded his deputy William Ruto that, just like him, he is still in government and should stop the culture of promising Kenyans about the future .

Uhuru who was in Nyeri at Giagatika market Mathira last Sunday October 25th said his deputy was on every campaign platform, fond of selling ‘hope’ to  Kenyans so that to be elected to power.

He reminded the DP that their Jubilee administration was yet to accomplish what they promised Kenyans and that this should be worked on before new promises are made.

According the the head of State, Ruto has been a powerful government official who ought to have delivered on his promises long time ago but who has now chosen to use their Handshake with Odinga as a scapegoat.

“Why promise people that you will do this or that tomorrow? Why can’t you do that now once and for all? Why are you giving future pledges instead of doing it now when we have peace and unity in the country?” Kenyatta posed.

He then took the opportunity to ask the DP to fully support the BBI agenda if he wanted Kenyans to take him serious saying, through good laws, Kenya will have a new lease of life.

The Star reported how Mr. Kenyatta used the opportunity to drum up support for the BBI document to be unveiled to the public today(Monday)  in which he said lies the true future for the nation especially in terms of fair and equitable distribution of resources.

“If it’s about parliamentary among other political seats, they should be distributed depending on the population. That is what we call justice and it is what we are looking for because lack of it is what brings chaos in the country during every election year,” said Kenyatta.

Among other things, BBI has addressed unemployment which made a huge part of their 2013/17 manifesto when they were taking power.

Uhuru and Ruto promised the country 500,000 jobs; a promise they never delivered until there recent fallout.

And according to the president, his legacy stands at risk if he will not have an answer on this matter at the tail end of his second term.

And while he was taking on Ruto in Nyeri, the DP was miles way in Western Kenya where he warned the Handshake duo against imposing the BBI Report on Kenyans who had no idea what it contained.

ODM boss Raila Odinga with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Let us stop insults, threats and competition of nobody can stop reggae, we want an inclusive debate from all Kenyans small or powerful before we can take action on the proposed changes,” he said while at Matungu Our Lady of Assumption Indangalasia Parish.

“We want all Kenyans to be given an opportunity to be heard not threats of nobody can stop reggae,” Ruto added.

The DP then said he will not relent in telling the truth about the opaque BBI project which he thinks it is mainly aimed at adding unnecessary burden to poor Kenyans.

Opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta are currently at the frontline whipping their forces to bring constitutional changes through a referendum.
