Thursday, December 1, 2022 –Just 10 years ago, Kenyan songbird Marya, born Mary Maina Wanjiru, was an untouchable hot lady in the city doing her thing in music arena.
Together with fellow female singers like Ogopa’s talented Avril, they released chart busters that took over airwaves, matatus as well as clubs in all major cities.
Their notable hit song Chokoza made them a household name and were celebrated with all the teenagers around the country those years.
The pretty city girl talented with unique figure, mellow voice and curves gave men a difficult time to move close.
All of a sudden, Marya would disappear from the limelight after falling in love with a bouncer called Kevo, who once worked in Dubai before returning to Kenya.
Kevo would quickly wreck Marya’s talent and life after he first impregnated her before dumping her just when their son was approaching 1 year.
Since then, her talent went off like smoke leaving her a complte pale shadow of former self struggling to raise her son single-mother; something she defended with regrets.
“Me what I can say is everything I did was because of my son,” she responded to Youtuber Eve Muingai in one of her interviews.
No one has ever heard of her until recent when some of her latest photos surfaced online in which she was holding her son who had just graduated.
