Monday, January 23, 2023 –President William Ruto has warned Raila Odinga’s wing against disturbing peace of the country through demonstrations.

Speaking during a church service held at Kerugoya Stadium in Kirinyaga County on Sunday January 22 morning, the Head of State cautioned the opposition leader against unnecessary threats.

“Those who are against the peace, and unity in the nation and they want to bring us old stories. I want to promise Kenya that we will not allow the country to be a hostage to threats and blackmail from a few people who are looking for their personal interests,” he stated.

Ruto was reacting to planned political rallies by the opposition in their bid to prove that they were robbed of their victory by the current regime.

For instance, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili aka Babu Owino, just like Eugen Wamalwa, said that the current government cannot stop them from holding gatherings because it lacks legitimacy.

“We will announce the last and final 2022 election results,” Owino uttered.

His stand was supported by former Azimio la Umoja running mate Martha Karua who insisted that the country will be told how the elections were bungled in favour of President William Ruto.

“IEBC as the duty bearer holds the records on our behalf. The records belong to us and ALL power is exercised by each and every office on our behalf, wherever you are, whoever you ARE listen and do what the constitution sanctions , lay bare the servers!” she insisted.

She added that their supporters have a right to be told what really transpired in the August 9 polls that saw Kenya Kwanza announced winners.

On his part, Mathare Constituency lawmaker, Anthony Oluoch, threatened to support any efforts meant to split the country into two so that ‘thieves’ can have their half while those with clean hands can run their affairs differently.

“Let us divide this country into pieces,” he threatened.

Upto now, Raila and Karua believe they were robbed of their rightful win by the Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC which they claim favoured Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza allthrough.
