Thursday, February 25, 2021 -Another County Assembly has shot down the Building Bridges Initiative BBI Draft Bill on grounds that it does not address devolution concerns.

The Thursday February 25 development was happening even after more than 40 Counties had endorsed the Report paving way for a Referendum stage.

Reports show that a total of 23 Members of the Nandi County Assembly rejected the 2020 Constitutional Amendment document as 13 supported it.

Nandi Assembly now joins Baringo County which was the first to vote ‘NO’ to the Draft Bill in a session that was characterized by chaos, teargas and name-calling. KANU affiliated members supported the Bill while Jubilee rejected it due to their political inclinations.

Both President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Handshake Partner Raila Odinga have lauded all the counties which endorsed the Bill making the 24 counties threshold mark reached with ease on the the day christened ‘Super Tuesday’.

The BBI secretariat ,on their part, through their long statement, showed gratitude to the counties that have already supported the Bill

“We wish to applaud them for listening to our Principals, President, HE Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and ignoring the lies and propaganda being peddled around the BBI process,” read their statement.

The secretariat further observed that the landslide victory so far witnessed across the counmty had proved that the BBI was actually a popular document with the people.
