Sunday, December 20, 2020 -Embattled Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is back to normal life out of power.

Despite mounting a spirited fight to save his job at the Senate level, he was finally ejected from office and immediately rendered powerless.

The flamboyant city guru who has been so vocal on matters within the city has, just like Kiambu’s Ferdinand Waititu, been stripped off everything including official bodyguards and aides.

Further, his official car was unceremoniously retrieved back to the owners and, within 24 hours, must hand over everything he has remained with that belongs to the County Government.

But in his latest post, he claimed that all these cannot bother him since civilian life is what he likes most.

“As I said before, there is life after politics, and I am excited to go back to my life and to be with the ordinary people who have been supporting me all my political life,” he wrote on social media.

He had earlier sensationally claimed that every senator who voted for his removal was bribed sh 2 million by the State.

“My good friend the Speaker of the Senate Ken Lusaka told me he was under instructions from State to breach the law in presiding over my impeachment. I was not born in State House and my father was not President nor Prime Minister and vice president as well.  To my beautiful wife Primose and daughter Saumu whose names were dragged into this mess while the trip was state-approved continue to be strong women, you have never done any business with the County of Nairobi or won yourselves tenders with Kemsa in the Covid Billionaires scandal to enrich yourselves or your family,” he posted on Facebook.

Sonko, before becoming a governor through the ruling Jubilee Party, was the Makadara MP and also Nairobi senator who pulled youthful masses especially within the city.

The politician was confronted with a total of 11 charges related to mismanagement of Nairobi County what culminated into final impeachment process.
