Monday, April 24, 2023 –Mr.  Patrick Munyoki Kioko has penned his statement with regard to stabbing a colleague at Pizza Inn outlet in Kitengela.

Last week, the suspect made headlines after returning from his off day to stab the lady severally to her immediate death.

    The late Gertrude Wayua Mutiso.

Images which circulated online showed the diseased pouring blood to her death at the Kitengela join where both worked.

In his police statement to detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI, the man now says he was upset when he realised Ms Wayua was seeing their manager at her place of work.

“This is a woman I loved so much. I was just bitter that she decided to hurt me right at our place of work,” he told police.

Nairobi News was yet to learn the identity of the boss Mr Kioko had problems with, which led to Ms Wayua’s death.

“He told detectives investigating the matter that he was angry with Ms Wayua because she was dating one of her bosses,” said a detective privy to the ongoing investigations as quoted in Nairobi News.

The officer further said it had emerged that the police had been made aware that Mr Kioko had threatened the deceased in the past but she took it as a joke.

The publication reported that Mr Kioko and Ms Wayua had started their relationship while they were still taking studies at Kimathi University in Nyeri County.

The suspect further told the officers that he was still pained but regretted his actions as the lady he loved so much was no more.

    A Crime scene condoled

Nairobi News also established that the deceased is a daughter of a senior police officer serving in Kiambu County.

Mr Patrick Munyoki Kioko allegedly stabbed Ms Gertrude Wayua Mutiso on the night of Friday, April 21, 2023, killing her on the spot.
