Thursday, December 8, 2022 –A bus belonging to Forward Travelers overturned today in Buruburu Nairobi leaving many passengers trapped inside.
In a communication received from a concerned Kenyan on the morning of Thursday December 8, the accident took place along Jogoo Road near Hamza Stage.
A video posted online by Ma3Route showed a chilling scene surrounded by ambulances as well as good Samaritans trying to save lives.
“Along Jogoo road inbound near Hamza stage – Buruburu. Forward Travelers overturned. Windows shattered. Ambulance at the scene. Not clear if there were casualties. Heavy traffic,” the traffic website reported.
Though casualties were yet to be reported, it was clear to tell from the video that several passengers had been hurt in the accident and needed urgent medical attention.
Homenews.co.ke was yet to establish the real cause of the morning accident but a few sources who spoke to this writer claimed that the van was speeding with loud music; hence carelessness and recklessness could have been the main cause.
“When I take a look at the accident along Jogoo Road, what I see is ignorance of the highest level. If there’s traffic, you are supposed to observe the traffic laws. Why did the bus driver swerve to the pavement?” Ronny Reagan commented on the accident.
Another user recommended that the lower Mombasa Road should not just be restored but improved as well. Whether the cause was removed or not, “the contractor should be obligated to restore all infrastructure to the initial state, that’s basic reasoning”.
During the accident, traffic Police officers rushed to the scene to man the traffic flow that was building up sharply.
