Tuesday, March 9, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta has invited Raila Odinga at Statehouse for a Tuesday March 9 crisis meeting.
The meeting will also have other NASA affiliate party leaders from Wiper Democratic Party, Amani National Congress and Ford Kenya. KANU’s Gideon Moi, Charity Ngilu and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho will also be present.
Reacting on the meeting, Junet Mohamed claimed that the meeting was planned sometimes back and that it has nothing to do with the fallout.
“The meeting of the party leaders is on course as earlier planned,” Mohamed said, referring to Gideon Moi’s press statement he read on Thursday, February 25.
The Suna East MP further said it had been planned that Uhuru and Raila will have to meet all the party leaders in support of the BBI for a discussion on the way forward.

Some party leaders have however claimed that they were yet to be invited in the high profile meeting.
Uhuru who was also supposed to meet members of Parliament and Senators this week had reportedly canceled the meeting which the Majority leader Amos Kimunya said was not so important at this particular time.
“I am sure we shall also celebrate the anniversary of the handshake at a later date,” Amos Kimunya said.
Raila Odinga’s allies have of late been poking holes into the manner in which Statehouse operatives were handling the Handshake casually with plans to render Mr. Odinga powerless and finally substitute him with Gideon Moi.

According to Senator Orengo and MP Junet Mohamed, plans to sabotage Odinga’s 2022 presidential plans was in the making which they however promised to counter this early.
Reports have it that after their wild claims, the president quickly reached out at the opposition leader through a phone call what calmed the looming ODM protests that were scheduled to kick off at Kamukunji Grounds in Kibra.
