aturday,May 29, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta’s meeting with a larger section of Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party members saw the latter roll out sweeteners to his guests.
It is now evident that as President Uhuru Kenyatta prepares to exit stage, he is preparing to leave power in the safe hands of a person who can clean the country off any dirt including corruption and insecurity.
In a lengthy report detailed by the Standard issue of Saturday May 29, it was established that Kenyatta’s Friday meeting with Luo Nyanza leadership at Statehouse Kenya saw him roll out a bag of sweeteners for Luo Region as a sure way of assuring Odinga that their Handshake agreement was still intact.
In the meeting, Uhuru appointed two Raila allies to sit in his special team that is overseeing the Jubilee government projects.
“In talks at Statehouse yesterday, the President rolled out sweeteners for the ODM leader and named two of the former PMs lieutenants to regularly sit in a team that oversees government projects,” read the report in the Standard.
A sources whispered to Homenews that Uhuru is keen on making sure the country‘s next leadership is reliable and would make everyone proud of being a Kenyan.
The president also told those who are linking the Handshake to 2022 succession politics that this was not the main aim of coming together with his foe-turned-ally Odinga.
Further, according to the Statehouse statement posted on its official social media pages with regard to the meeting, this was a normal gathering just like any other.
“The focus of the President’s meeting with Luo Nyanza leaders at State House, Nairobi on Friday was development, and similar to several other meetings the Head of State has held with regional leaders in the past,” Kanze Dena wrote.
Uhuru therefore called upon all leaders to unite and work towards improving the economic level of the country through sustainable development programs.
