riday, April 9, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta has regreted joining politics which he has describes as “useless”.
Through a video that has surfaced online, the president openly discussed about his unwillingness to join politics confirming the past rumour that certain forces were behind his decision to join “useless” politics.
The video in question was recorded when he was attending a private burial service for his niece Yvonne Muthoni who is his niece – daughter to the First Lady Marget Kenyatta’s sister Gabriela Gakuo.
The President who was recalling his golden youthful days when he used to walk freely around the city attending family functions alongside family members including the diseased, said politics was not his cup of tea. That since he joined the profession he can nolonger enjoy the vast freedom he used to wield.
“The most telling moment was when this unfortunate incident happened and how it touched in a very intense way every single one of our 5 remaining siblings. The love they had for each other, the care, the wonderful times that we shared as a family.
“Many many holidays we spent together before I got into this useless world of politics,” Uhuru recounted as he equally regretted.
This is not the first time Mr. Kenyatta is regretting joining politics, he once talked about it while appearing on Churchill show saying he missed enjoying his drinks without attracting attention of the members of the public.
“I would be sitting here getting my drink and nobody would be noticing me,” he told comedian Churchill during a past interview as laughter rented the air.
In 2002, for instance, Uhuru was hand-picked by Moi from home to venture into politics contrary to his wishes. By that time, big shots like Raila Odinga, Mwai Kibaki, and Wamalwa Kijana were eagerly waiting for an endorsement that was finally handed to a newbie – Uhuru Kenyatta who would a term later become the president.
