onday, March 22, 2021 -Removal of Deputy President William Ruto from top Jubilee Party position is now facing rebellion from a section of Jubilee stalwarts.
It has now emerged that Kieleke MPs are split between supporting his removal from deputy party position or not.
One section, according to sources, want Ruto removed immediately so that the party can kickstart plans to win the next general elections. The other section however want Mr. Kenyatta to hold on so that, shall things not work well in the near future, he can still mend fences with Ruto.
The Standard reported that the Jubilee General Secretary Raphael Tuju had confirmed to them the differences in opinions by saying this will be made clear through their Monday National Management Committee meeting.
“We have a National Management Committee meeting tomorrow(Monday) but I can neither confirm nor deny if that (ouster) would be on the agenda.
“I cannot talk of an agenda before it is adopted by the meeting,” Tuju stated on Sunday, March 21.
It will be after this meeting that another one of the National Executive Council NEC meeting will follow over the same issue.
A section of Kieleweke team led by Mr. David Murathe are piling pressure on the head of State to shove Ruto away from Jubilee role due to insubordination. They claim Ruto has his own party called United Democratic Alliance UDA Party and can nolonger serve two interests.
On the other hand, DP William Ruto allies have dared those pushing for Ruto ouster to go on and make good their threats.
“Do not think you will threaten anyone by purporting that you want to remove the Deputy President. You are removing from something that is neither here nor there,” Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro responded to plans.
DP’s removal from Jubilee position will however not interfere with his role as a Deputy Head of State.
