Tuesday, February 2, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta is in Nyeri County and on Monday February 1, he paid a surprise visit to a local old woman and sat with her for hours.

Photos which arrived on our desk shows Mr. Kenyatta having a free time with the old Nyeri woman identified as Njeri who on the other hand is elated to meet the head of State and have lunch together for the first time in her life.

The President after entering the house of Mama Njeri on Monday.

It was reported how, at first, she just though they were any their visitors from around, but when she looked around one more time, her eyes quickly noticed Mr. Kenyatta from the rest throwing her into both a frenzy and jovial mode.

Uhuru would then be ushered into her semi-permanent house and comfortably sat on the readily available chair as she sat besides him in her living room.

The president was on a mission to commission the Last Mile Electricity LME project which had stalled last year. He was using his week-long tour at Sagana State Lodge to resuscitate the project.

President Uhuru Kenyatta share moments with Nyeri locals.

“We want to ensure that every Kenyan has access to electricity both for domestic and for income generating activities such as welding, hairdressing businesses and milk cooling plants for farmers,” he said while commissioning.

He confirmed that over 70 percent of homes especially in the rural setting had already been connected with power.

Uhuru was accompanied by other senior State officials.
