Sunday, December 25, 2022 –Kenyan international footballer Victor Wanyama together with actress wife Serah Ndanu Teshna have wished their fans a Merry Christmas and happy new year.
Taking to his social media accounts, the Kenyan professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Major League Soccer club CF Montréal urged the country to celebrate their end year in a peaceful environment.
“Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and happy holidays,” he captioned a photo in which he was hanging around with his lean family.
Wanyama, brother to McDonald Mariga, recently rejoined Harambee Stars national team after the newly-appointed Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba reached out to him with the request.
“I am delighted Victor Wanyama has agreed to return fully to Harambee Stars, rescinding his earlier decision to exit the team,” Namwamba said after their meeting.
The successful indoor discussion which turned positive saw the midfielder agree to make a comeback in the national team.
Before leaving Harambee Stars for his international task, Wanyama was the captain of the team. He would then leave the position to Michael Olunga.
“From making my debut against Nigeria to captaining the team at the African Cup of Nations, in Egypt, these past 14 years have gone beyond what I ever thought was possible.
“But all good things must come to an end and after long consideration, I have made a really difficult decision to retire from international football,” he stated when he was leaving the National team.
It is not yet clear whether he will be taking the captain-ship role again or not.
