Saturday, May 20, 2023 –Word doing rounds on the streets is that President William Ruto is mulling on nominating Lawyer Miguna Miguna to the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions ODPP.
Kenyans on social media are upbeat that after the president recently moved DPP Noordin Haji from the prosecution office to the National Intelligence Service NIS, next to replace him will be Canadian-based Kenyan lawyer, Miguna Miguna.

Already, a section of Kenyans are sending early congratulatory messages to the lawyer who is yet to be officially confirmed the next DPP.
“Congratulations general Miguna Miguna, next DPP boss,” Kaslim commented.
Roonie, on his behalf, noted that Dr. Miguna Miguna’s actions as the Director of Public Prosecution may have mixed results; some good some bad due to his fierce stand in matters politics and governance.
“If Miguna is appointed the DPP, will he walk the talk ama ataingia kwa system aanze kujijenga or going after revenge and all at…,” Roonie observed.
Another user who calls himself Government Critic said the only main target should Miguna Miguna be given the prosecutorial powers will be to send former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his friend Raila Odinga behind the bars.
“If Miguna Miguna gets appointed as the Director of Public Prosecution…. Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta will be in trouble. Not forgetting other Azimio allies,” Government critic commented.
Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi opined that Dr. Miguna Miguna is currently touted as the best replacement at the Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions ODPP.
“What if Miguna Miguna becomes the third Director of Public Prosecutions after the promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya 2010?” Nyakundi posed.

So far, in the corridors of power, Advocate Miguna Miguna is reported to be among the possible candidates who have largely been advocated for the position of DPP following the exit of Mr. Haji.
